MAGICALLY LAUNCHES WEB-BASED PERSONAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR PALM VII USERS --

Hand Held Access to MagicalDesk Email, Calendar, and To Do/Task list Lets Users Walk and Work

Redwood City, Calif.-- September 28, 1999 -- With its national introduction next week, Palm VII buyers will find an added bonus to their latest hand-held gadget -- a web-based personal management system that lets you work while you walk. Magically, Inc., makers of the world’s first multiple platform digital desktop, today announced the availability of a downloadable Palm Query Application (PQA) for Palm VII, which provides MagicalDesk (www.magicaldesk.com) users access to their web-based email account, calendar, and to do/task list.

"The Palm VII MagicalDesk application reinforces our cross-platform strategy to bring the capabilities of the virtual desktop to mobile professionals everywhere," said Erwin Huang, chief executive officer of Magically, Inc. "MagicalDesk Palm VII users can now manage everything from work and family schedules to business and personal emails, to their daily grocery list, without being tied to a computer."

3Com’s Palm VII organizer, which offers a wireless connection, enables users to easily obtain their MagicalDesk information from the Internet. Mobile professionals now can access their private or shared MagicalDesk calendar, check their daily to do/task list, and send and receive emails with their Palm VII.

The MagicalDesk PQA is designed to save time and money. Once installed, the application will only ask for a users MagicalDesk "login" information the first time it’s used. After that, the MagicalDesk server will automatically recognize the users’ Palm VII and provide the user with direct access to his calendar, to do list and emails. Once a user has opened his MagicalDesk, the email system lets him select which emails he wishes to download -- a potential money saver since Palm wireless Internet charges are based on the numbers of kilobytes transferred.

Palm VII users will enjoy the one-stop email drop box with MagicalDesk. By setting the MagicalDesk email account to POP mode, the MagicalDesk email module will pull email from a users office account or other email accounts, a feature the Palm VII doesn’t offer through it’s email option. MagicalDesk emails are then forwarded to the users’ palm.net email account, enabling them to retrieve all their emails in one place.

Where to Find the MagicalDesk/Palm VII PQA
The PQA will be available download for MagicalDesk users at www.magicaldesk.com as well as www.palm.net, Palm VII’s service and support site, under the Query Apps page.
